Lecture at University of Central Asia focuses on Higher Education and Science Reform: A Kazakhstan Perspective
On 9 October 2015, the University of Central Asia hosted a public lecture on Higher Education and Science Reform in Republic of Kazakhstan: Diverse Trajectories of Developing Partnerships by Dr Aida Sagintayeva, Chief Executive Director, and Dr Murat Orunkhanov, Senior Research Fellow from Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Education (NUGSE). The lecture resulted in an animated discussion on higher education, with former President of the Kyrgyz Republic Mrs Roza Otunbayeva playing an active role.
Switzerland renovated a dormitory for young doctors in Naryn province
The inauguration event marking the completion of the renovation work at the dormitory for young doctors and medical residents has taken place on 8October in At-Bashy district of the Naryn province of Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyz Republic: Staff Concluding Statement of an IMF Mission for a Staff-Monitored Program
An IMF mission, led by Edward Gemayel, visited Bishkek during September 16-29, 2015 to conduct the first review under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) and hold the 2015 Article IV consultation discussions. ADB TO DOUBLE ANNUAL CLIMATE FINANCING TO $6 BILLION FOR ASIA-PACIFIC BY 2020
MANILA, PHILIPPINES (25 September 2015) — Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Takehiko Nakao today announced that ADB will double its annual climate financing to $6 billion by 2020, up from the current $3 billion. ADB’s spending on tackling climate change will rise to around 30% of its overall financing by the end of this decade.
