Growth slows in Central Asia on back of Russian recession, low commodity prices
EBRD economic forecast for the region projects 3.8 per cent growth in 2015 for the region. Economic growth in Central Asia is expected to slow down this year, according to the latest economic forecast published by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) today.
UCA’s Cholukov Recognised for Strengthening Local Governance
Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, 3 November 2015 – At a ceremony in Bishkek on 22 October 2015, Urmat Cholukov, University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (UCA SPCE) Project Coordinator, received the Excellence in Local Government award from the State Agency for Local Self-Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. The award recognised Cholukov’s efforts in developing capacity within local self-government and strengthening unity among citizens.
