The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is taking the first step towards developing a green financial system in Kazakhstan in partnership with the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Authority.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is signing projects worth over ?350 million in Kazakhstan this week with investments that improve the quality of public services for the population, raise food quality standards and help combat climate change.

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, 11 May 2016 - Graduates of the University of Central Asia’s Institute of Public Policy (UCA IPPA) Certificate Programme in Policy Analysis (CPPA) formed an Alumni Associatio n on 11 May 2016 in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.

The EBRD and the government of Kazakhstan are continuing to support sustainable public utilities through an extension of existing projects with the Central Asian Electric Power Corporation (CAEPCO), the largest private sector energy corporation in the country, to modernise district heating in the cities of Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar and Ekibastuz. The project is expected to benefit over 500,000 residents in north-eastern Kazakhstan.

The EBRD and the government of Kazakhstan are continuing the modernisation of the country’s water and district heating systems with three new loan agreements signed today.

Osh - On May 26, 2016, roundtable discussions on the theme “Raising Awareness of Osh Entrepreneurs on the Use of Digital Signature” will be held at “Sun Rise” Hotel in Osh. The participants will discuss current problems and possibilities for using a digital signature (DS) for interactions of businesses with the government agencies, as well as learn about the legal framework that regulates the use of digital signature. The discussions are organized with the support of the Collaborative Governance Program, funded by USAID and DFID. 

The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Sir Suma Chakrabarti, is visiting three Caspian states next week.

According to monitoring findings, the Pervomaiskey District Court of Bishkek is the leader in publishing judicial acts and information on proceedings on the website www.sot.kg during the month of April 2016 with the score of 85.29%. The Leninskey District Court was ranked 2^nd with the score of 65.42%, while the Sverdlovskey District Court was ranked the 3^rd with the score of 61.41%. The Pervomaiskey District Court of Bishkek had led the rating in February, March 2016. 

According to monitoring findings, the Pervomaiskey District Court of Bishkek is the leader in publishing judicial acts and information on proceedings on the website www.sot.kg during the month of March 2016 with the score of 71.87%. The Sverdlovsiey District Court was ranked 2^nd with the score of 59.13%, while the Octyabrskey District Court was ranked the 3^rd with the score of 56.02%. The Pervomaiskey District Court of Bishkek had led the rating in February 2016. 

The University of Central Asia (UCA), together with the Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS), celebrated a milestone in the development of Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic into a vibrant university town with the inauguration of the AKHS Medical and Diagnostic Centre on 11 May 2016.
