Mercy Corps is implementing the United Nations World Food Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic to improve the food security and nutrition of vulnerable populations and strengthen national systems and institutions.
In 2025-2026, Mercy Corps will support the implementation of the School Gardens project, funded by the UN World Food Program, which aims to establish 50 school gardens, build the capacity of relevant school staff, and provide them with the necessary skills, knowledge, methodological tools and materials to enable them to organize, manage and maintain school gardens properly. Since 2013, the WFP has been successfully implementing a school feeding program in Kyrgyzstan, achieving significant results in providing primary school children with hot, varied and nutritious meals. Under Strategic Outcome 4, by 2027, WFP will contribute to strengthening the capacity of schools to provide healthy meals to children and create sustainable school feeding solutions that improve health, nutrition, educational outcomes and food security. An important area of focus is the implementation of income-generating initiatives at the school level, as well as more effective.
Mercy Corps is seeking for three agronomist who will create school gardens in the relevant group of schools to participate in the competition for the provision of services with the aim of developing a unified format for assessing school potential, taking soil samples for analysis, and conducting trainings in the Southern and Northen regions of the Kyrgyz Republic for the period from October 1 to December 8, 2025 and February - April, 2026 (See Terms of Reference).
