Part-time English Language Teacher

Employment status: Part-time, 3-month contract, renewable up to 9 months

Schedule: 2-3 times per week from 18:30 to 21:00

Starting date: March 16 and June 22, 2026

Eligibility: Open to Kyrgyz Republic citizens only

SUMMARY:

The C5+O.N.E. (Opening Networks through English) English Language Teacher will support a regional English language training initiative funded by the U.S. Department of State, designed for early-to-mid-career leaders in business, government, non-profit, and media working across various sectors of the economy in Central Asia. The program focuses on English for the Economy, with particular emphasis on agriculture, natural resources value chains, finance and banking, digital and creative economies, and the energy sector.

The successful candidate will deliver American English instruction with a strong emphasis on spoken, professional communication, enabling participants to engage confidently in cross-border and international contexts. Beyond language instruction, the role contributes to building professional networks that support shared prosperity, regional integration, cross-border collaboration, and stronger U.S.– Central Asia ties. The English Language Teacher will work under the guidance of a Lead Teacher based in Bishkek, who will provide ongoing training, mentoring, and academic support throughout the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and effective English language lessons to a diverse group of adult learners, focusing on both general English and English for Specific Purposes.
  • Deliver course materials and lessons that are student-centered, interactive, and challenging.
  • Provide regular feedback and support to students, identify areas for improvement, and help learners achieve their language goals.
  • Utilize a variety of communicative activities, such as group work, discussions, presentations, and role plays, to promote active and meaningful learning.
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and student engagement.
  • Implement new teaching methodologies and technologies in the classroom and facilitate student use of digital tools, such as Google Forms, Google Docs, and Google Classroom.
  • Use data tools to document attendance and student progress as part of the program’s monitoring and evaluation responsibilities.
  • Communicate with Lead Teacher and program staff on a regular basis and in a timely manner.
  • Submit requested documentation accurately according to deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in education or a related field, and qualification as an English Language teacher
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching adults English as a Foreign or Second Language, preferably in a program focused on English for professionals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Familiarity with current educational technologies and methodologies (e.g. student-centered learning, project-based learning)
  • Active participation in relevant professional development events, and interest in attending training and workshops
