The OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan invites applications to its temporary position of Senior Admission Specialist. Actual dates of employment will be communicated with the most successful candidate upon budget availability.

The OSCE Academy in Bishkek is a public foundation, created in 2002 as a result of partnership between the Kyrgyz Government and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The OSCE Academy promotes values and principles of the OSCE through research, post-graduate education, professional trainings, and intellectual exchange.

The OSCE Academy provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Admission Office for the Department of Graduate Education. Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Admission Specialist are as follows:

  • Organize the admissions process applying agreed internal requirements and in line with the regulations set by Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic;
  • Review and update the internal Admission regulations and internal admission policy on an annual basis in order to maximize the efficiency of the admission process with the guidance of Head of the Educational Department;
  • Organize the work of the Admission commission, support the Admission commission members and ensure correct procedures during the selection process at a professional level;
  • Guide applicants through the application process (Email; phone; Embark); handle enquiries from applicants and/or their parents in a timely and professional manner;
  • Process incoming applications for all educational programmes (MA, BA, Summer school).
  • Review and shortlisting of received applications for compliance with requirements;
  • Organize and conduct admission tests according to the approved admission plan;
  • Liaise with Head of the Educational Department on a regular basis to report the implementation of the approved admission process;
  • Cooperate with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic on  issues related to the performed duties (reporting, statistics, verification, etc.)
  • Participate in developing annual recruitment plan;  
  • Manage and update Embark online application platform;
  • Monitor and update of all information relating to admission process on the web page;
  • Implement other duties as assigned by supervisors in addition to assisting with general office tasks.

Qualifications and eligibility:

  • higher education in the social sciences, liberal arts, or a related field
  • at least three years of working experience in higher education
  • excellent knowledge of oral and written Russian and English (knowledge of Kyrgyz language will be an asset)
  • experience in working with online application platforms
  • experience of working with universities in the regions an asset
  • excellent analytical skills, experience of working with a large amount of information and documentation within a short period of time
  • excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • high level of stress resistance
  • ability to travel in the wider region of Central Asia
