Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, April 2, 2014—IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, has developed a manual to help companies in the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan improve corporate governance and ultimately boost regional economic growth.
"Small and medium enterprises are a main driver of business and economic exchange in Afghanistan and the ‘Heart of Asia’ region, especially between Afghanistan and Central Asia,” said Mrs Roya Rahmani, Director General of the Regional Cooperation Directorate of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. EBRD channels US$ 5 million to the microfinance organisation, a long-term partner of the Bank.

Two agreements on project financing——one for the Bishkek-Osh Road Rehabilitation and the other for agricultural machinery supplies——were concluded today in Bishkek between Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and the Kyrgyz Republic.
