Andras Simor appointed EBRD Vice President for Finance and CFO

Andras Simor, the EBRD’s Vice President Policy, has been appointed Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer, effective from October 2014.
 
He will replace Manfred Schepers who has held the position for eight years. The Vice Presidency Finance at the EBRD is responsible for Treasury, Loan Syndications and Capital Market Development as well as Financial Strategy and Policy and Financial, Budget and Business Planning and Capital Management.

Andras Simor joined the EBRD in July 2013 after serving as Governor of the National Bank of Hungary and previously holding senior positions in the private sector, including in the field of capital markets, auditing and financial consultancy.

EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti, announcing the appointment, said, “Andras Simor brings a huge amount of experience to his new job. I am confident that the finances of the EBRD remain in steady hands.”

Sir Suma also paid tribute to Manfred Schepers, thanking him for the enthusiasm he had demonstrated for the EBRD’s mission and for keeping the EBRD financially strong, despite an exceptionally challenging external environment.
