Project USAID “Reading together” in partnership with the National Testing Center of Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic is holding a round table on the 4th of December 2014 in Bishkek at the Park Hotel, 87, Orozbekov st.., for government and regional educational institutions and international organizations working in this field to discuss the results of the early grade reading assessment in primary school (EGRA), conducted in 130 schools of Kyrgyzstan and to develop the recommendations for the use of the data received to improve the reading skills and comprehension of the primary grade students.
EGRA, held in April 2014, is an assessment based on the educational achievements of the students and is a practical tool for policy makers, school leaders, parents and teachers in making decisions aimed at improving the reading skills.
Minister of Education and Science and other representatives of the MoE&S of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyz Academy of Education, oblast education institutes and methodological centers, district/city education departments, international organizations are invited to take part in the round table.
