International Expert on Article 6 Carbon Markets and Sector Based MRV

Location: Home-based with one mission to Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic

Period of assignment/services: 7 months

The objective of the assignment is to provide strategic and methodological support for the design of Article 6-compliant carbon market instruments and the MRV framework for the Kyrgyz Republic, including:

• Development of Article 6 carbon market architecture.
• Design of MRV and accounting systems aligned with transparency requirements in part of climate finance, including Article 6.
• Definition of institutional and governance arrangements for carbon market participation.
• Structuring of eligibility principles for mitigation outcomes, including sectoral application (cement sector as a priority).
• Support to national Article 6 readiness framework development.
