The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Kyrgyz Republic today signed a $55 million loan to upgrade the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart section of highway connecting the country with the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) today opened an observation mission to monitor the 30 October presidential election in Kyrgyzstan.

The one-day seminars are organized by the Prosecutor-General's Office and the Central Election Commission with the assistance of the OSCE Centre in Bishkek and the UNDP’s Kyrgyz Elections Support Project, funded by the European Union and government of Germany.

The OSCE Centre in Bishkek supported the organization of two training courses on conflict prevention and conflict resolution for prison staff. The first course took place on 5-7 September in Osh for 15 participants from the southern region, followed by a similar event on 9-14 September in Bishkek for 15 participants from the north. 

OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Vice-President Walburga Habsburg Douglas (Sweden) today completed a four-day election assessment visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.
