
Preparation for the High Level Forum 3
To deepen understanding of aid effectiveness issues, build ownership of the Accra agenda, and develop broad consensus around key issues, the international community is conducting a number of consultation meetings before the Third HLF.
These consultations include a broad set of participants: representatives of partner countries, non traditional donors and other providers of development aid, and civil society. The meetings are designed to foster continued learning about aid effectiveness and elicit input into the development of the Third HLF.
A Kyrgyz delegation took part in the regional Consutlations on the HIgh Level Forum on Aid effectiveness in Bankok, 8-9 May 2008. The Consultation was organized for the Central and West Asian countries. The delegation was led by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Kyrgyz Republic Japarov Akylbek. Minister Japarov made opening remarks at the meeting; he spoke about the required efforts for strengthening aid effectiveness.
A representative of the Kyrgyz delegation, head of the Aid Strategy department with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Akhmatiov Sultan, shared the experience of Kyrgyzstan in his two presentations at the workshop: "Aid Effectiveness Surevy 2008" and "Country Ownership".
